Each staff member will have six days off during the summer and three to four nights off a week. On nights off you are required to be back in your bunk by 12:30 curfew. Chipinaw plans and schedules some days off for our staff on an optional basis. Some of these trips may include New York City with a Mets or Yankees game, Palisades Mall, Lake Superior Park, and a camping and rafting trip. You must sign up for these scheduled trips and expenses will be deducted directly from your salary.
During your nights off you can choose to leave camp to do some shopping at Wal-Mart, grab a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants, indulge in some treats at Candy Cone (ice cream parlor) or just hang out in our staff lounge. The staff lounge offers computers with internet access (wireless access as well), a big screen tv with satellite and dvd player, a pool table, and vending machines. Chipinaw also offers a few staff games throughout the summer in which our staff competes against other camp’s staff in sports such as softball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball.
